Charles Smith, a resident of Hedgewood in Beacon since 1995, was born on March 13, 1921. He just celebrated his 100th birthday. Charles moved to New York from St. Thomas West Indies. He worked as a construction worker for many years, however now in his elder years he enjoys spending his time watching television and going for walks, but most of all he loves eating and drinking soda. Charles can often be found in his room snacking away while watching TV.
Due to CVOID-19 restrictions, it was difficult to celebrate this landmark occasion the traditional way. However, the Hedgewood staff was able to play 1940s music throughout the building and had cupcakes for all.
